Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

High XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
In Dragonflight Patch 10.2, the ability Time Bomb has been changed. This tag is marking strategies using Time Bomb so they can be reviewed.

Worked perfectly for me in patch 10.2.6 (dragonflight)

After trying your strategy numerous times and failing on the last encounter. I swapped in kun lai runt for rotten little helper.

Followed your strategy uptil death of wumpas. When baeloth prisoned my idol i brought in Rotten lil helper ( 1,2,1) used ice tomb and then greench's gift. baeloth killed helper....idol comes back in used deflection ice tomb debuff killed baeloth.

thanks for your guide though came a long way using your work.

Worked awesome in SL! Thank you

Emelie wrote on 2017-08-10 12:14:42

This was definitely a terrible RNG fight. With Demolish, I could never get it to work.
I ended up using Baby Winston (112), Rotten Little Helper (211) and Anubisath Idol (111)

Against Thurgtusk: Heroic Leap (to avoid the first bit of damage), Primal Rage, and 2 Tesla Cannons. Thurgtusk down.
Rounds 1+2: Heroic Leap
Round 3: Primal Rage
Round 4: Tesla Cannon
Round 5: Tesla Cannon - Thurgtusk dies.

Against Wumpas:
Round 1: Pass - Baby Winston dies, bring in Rotten Little Helper
Round 2: Greench's Gift
Round 3: Booby-Trapped Presents
Round 4+: Ice Lance. Use Greench's Gift and Booby-Trapped Presents on cooldown if need be. Wumpas dies.

Against Baeloth:
When Baeloth comes in, he will take the damage from the Booby-Trapped Presents.
Rotten Little Helper will take the damage and the stun, and it will kill him. Bring in Anubisath Idol.
Priority: Sandstorm, Crush, Deflection when his stun comes up again, but I was able to kill him in 3 rounds after he first came in.

I know not everyone has a Baby Winston, but if you're pressed for time (yay WQ reset), This does help immensely.

Hope this helps someone! :)

Tried the recommended strategy several times and just could not take down the last pet. Your strategy worked perfectly! Can we get this one in the list??

Only way I got this to work was using a kun-lai runt that was P/S. My anub missed the 50% in 3 fights. But changing my kun-lai out for a "quicker" one made him at least have a chance vs the last pet. I'm sure there are better humanoid pets for fighting Baeloth but glad this is done for now. Also this is during the SL pre-patch. (edited)

Aka wrote on 2017-05-28 06:44:42

I don't have Terky. Thats why I used Sister of Temptation [s/b] - 111.
Started with doom, than Shadow shock and sometimes lovestruck. Killed the first to pets easily. Hope its useful

this doesn't even try to work

Dethsquid wrote on 2017-08-09 23:18:28

I used Baby Winston from the Overwatch collector's edition instead of Terky. His Tesla Cannon soloed the first two pets and then Kun-Lai and Anubisath Idol took down the third.

Oh heaven! Baby Winston demolished the first two pets with Barrier Projector on cooldown and then Tesla Canon. Awesome, thanks for posting. I mopped up with Flayer Youngling.

Kuamuu wrote on 2017-09-21 22:24:20

I won with Flayer Youngling (2-2-2), Anubisath Idol (2-1-1) and Kun-Lai Runt (1-2-2). The Flayer went halfway through the second pet with Rampage/Deflection and Anubisath demolished the rest.

Rayna wrote on 2017-05-28 14:44:54

I had a tough time with this strat, Idol ended up missing 4-5 hits in a row, repeatedly. I ended up switching Terky out for Grumpling (122), kept Idol (211) & Kun-Lai Runt (122). With Grumpling started with Frost Shock then Deep Freeze to stun Thrug. Wumpus then switches in, used Punish until I could use Shock then Freeze to stun. When Idol comes in used Sandstorm and Demolish. If RNG is on your side, you might finish off Wumpus before he heals all the way, if not use Deflection when he comes out of Hybernate to negate the big hit. The fights a pain with a humanoid team, but keep at it. Hope this helps.

LirmaeiRav wrote on 2017-08-09 08:54:06

I modified the strat a little. Don't bother with Flank. Just Stampede (make sure it hits -- if you get stunned, do it again), then Lucky Dance then switch to Idol. With Idol, you should have enough luck left to hit Thrugtusk once, killing him. Then, hit Wumpus twice (don't bother with deflection), killing him. Then move on to Runt.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-02-16 05:32:21

Bogus strat, 4x and does not work at all.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-02-21 16:35:27

Just worked on the first attempt for me, and that was even with a demolish missing once.

Chad wrote on 2017-03-09 23:03:15

Agreed bogus strat 3 fails in a row looking for another alternative....

Aranesh

wrote on 2017-03-10 03:36:07

Not bogus, but RNG dependent. The first part is guaranteed if you don't make a mistake in the strat. On Baeloth it can become an issue, but remember you only need to do this one single time for the achievement and restarting a few times is just a reality for many of these fights.

Paladestar wrote on 2017-04-26 05:33:20

I finished it using this strategy, first try and with Anub still alive at the end. All five Demolishes my Anub did hit the target! Almost the same odds as winning a single number spin on roulette!

Zabrina wrote on 2017-03-16 07:09:08

This worked perfectly :D didn't even need my Kun-lai runt. :o thanks!

neon wrote on 2017-03-10 02:44:07

Does not work unless you have tons of time to spend waiting for the right RNG. Please change strat.

Tichin wrote on 2017-02-04 00:08:59

This strat is very helpful, i just used my sandstorm vs Baeloth and then finishing him with Runt

Clouds wrote on 2017-01-25 18:09:02

Used Sister of temptation (2 1 1), Anubisath Idol (2 2 1) and Kun-Lai Runt (1 2 2). Depend on luck though.

Harbinger of Flame (2, 2, 2)
Father's Winter Helper (2, 1, 1)

Luscia wrote on 2017-01-25 05:52:59

Thanks for this strategy ! Unfortunately, I hav'nt get Terky yet, so I used "Lardon" (Hogs http://www.wowhead.com/npc=76873) with stampede / Headbutt. I had to try several times, because of lack of chance (missing Lucky Dance)... but it finally, it worked !

pilfer wrote on 2016-12-25 06:38:48

I dont have turky, then i use Lil Bad Wolf instead (1,1,1) Mangle, Howl, then claw till the 1 pet is dead, then claw and let lil dead with the 2 pet.

KateUK wrote on 2017-01-03 15:14:03

I don't have Terky either and Lil' Bad Wolf does the job really well so thanks for that. The Anubisath Idol only has a 50% chance to hit with demolish so yes very RNG heavy but like Aranesh says you only need it to work once. The first time I got one hit in out of about 8 before the Idol died and Kun Lai Runt couldn't finish the fight. The second time the Idol destroyed Wumpas and Baeloth and the Kun Lai Runt didn't even see the fight ;)

Kessina wrote on 2017-01-03 08:03:33

this worked perfectly for me first time - didn't even need to bring in the runt.

Arugadh wrote on 2016-12-26 02:26:49

horrible strat. Very RNG heavy. Wumpas kills the Anubisath Idol 9/10 tries, and the Kun-Lai ends up with not enough HP to finish Baeloth.

Aranesh

wrote on 2016-12-26 04:15:01

There's luck involved, but remember you only need this once for the achievement :-)

Darius wrote on 2016-12-29 05:39:59

Yeah when Demolish misses 4 times in a row thats very annoying, there many more pets that are more relyable to do the job

Aranesh

wrote on 2016-12-29 09:46:51

Not really, the combination of Terky and Anubisath is very powerful and makes Demolish a 100% hit chance at the beginning. This is crucial to the strategy and makes it quite useful. Later on it's down to the usual 50%. Still some RNG but often in pet battles that can't be helped.
4 times in a row is very, very unlikely, but it's possible like everything when random factors are involved. Don't give up :-)

Annoyed wrote on 2016-12-30 00:17:41

Not if your Terky doesn't live long enough to get the Dance off, dude.

Aranesh

wrote on 2016-12-30 03:39:35

Still, it's a "do once and forget" thing :-) And there are other alternatives available as well, if you really have such bad luck with this one.

Zeera wrote on 2016-12-26 08:43:46

Strat worked perfectly for me first go and I was lucky with the Idol finishing the fight. Thank you :)

Grunch wrote on 2016-12-26 00:48:43

Worked perfectly on the first try for me, and RNG wasn't strictly in my favor. So I don't know what all the complaints and hostility are for. Thank you much!

Anonymous wrote on 2016-12-25 09:00:47

Also lil bad wolf is better than turky in every way.

Michelle wrote on 2016-12-19 22:31:25

I didn't have Terky so I used Fiendish Imp instead (1, 1, 1). Cast immolation and then burned until the first one died. The rest of this strategy worked great with idol and runt. Runt wouldn't have survived long enough though if idol hadn't gotten in a demolish. Definitely a RNG dependent fight.

Celthil wrote on 2016-12-03 23:04:45

I used Winter's little helper (lance, blizzard, ice tomb) Rotten little helper(lance, booby trapped presents, greench's gift) third never came into play

Ice tomb
blizzard
Lance til tomb goes off
Switch to Rotten little helper
Greench's gift
Lance til Wumpas dies
Thrugtusk comes back in
Booby trapped presents
lance til thrug dies
Baeloth comes in and gets hit hard
Lance to finish

Baeloth died to my booby trapped presents but with one at full, Winter's and Rotten at half vs severly injured Baeloth you shouldn't have any issues mopping up.

Baby Winston (1,1,1) Stomped this team. Took out both Thrugtusk and Wumpas before dying. Granted, Winston isnt one that everyone has, but thought i'd put it out there. :)

Raimu wrote on 2016-12-03 17:18:40

And Curious Wolvar Pup make for interesting switch-play.

Tel wrote on 2016-12-03 17:54:00

Baby Winston works really well. When Wumpus hibernates, use Primal Rage and keep using Tesla Cannon.

Sefer wrote on 2016-11-26 06:34:41

Does not work. Does not work at all. Runt dies too early. Anub isn'T able to deal a single demolish blow against Baeloth, that damage is missing.

Zalid wrote on 2016-11-26 12:37:49

I agree. Unless Anub manages to hit Baeloth with a normal Demolish (Lucky Dance runs out when Barloth comes in), then the runt cannot deal with Baeloth.

Berrenger wrote on 2016-12-03 17:24:50

I disagree, the strategy worked fine for me. My Anub didn't do any damage to Baeloth but the Runt killed it with 300hp left.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-11-27 02:43:27

The RNG is horrible on your set up. I had to do this like 10x as the stars have to align to get a win.

Jen wrote on 2016-10-26 03:19:03

Anub is sometimes terrible at this fight, 3 misses in a row meant Wumpas killed him first attempt. Next time he finished off last 2 pets. Thanks to Ectothrix. I used a Flayer Youngling 212 in place of Terky

Bluethe wrote on 2016-11-12 08:05:29

If you use Lucky Dance in Round 3 and the following rounds only until Terky dies, then your Idol has a 100% hit chance with its demolish.

Aranesh

wrote on 2016-11-25 08:47:03

Yep, that's exactly the reason why I use Terky here, it buffs Demolish immensely :-)

Eckokitten wrote on 2016-11-12 10:59:01

I just used the flayer youngling, idol, and kun-lai runt. in that order and it was cake! So easy. Only my flayer died and I didnt even really need to use the runt. It could have been luck but yay!

Anonymous wrote on 2016-10-25 19:49:27

Kun-Lai Runt Failed 3 times so I used a second Idol

Jirki88 wrote on 2016-11-12 05:50:23

Yeah the Kun-Lai Runt don't do anything useful in this fight. Better having Rotten Little Helper with his Greench's Gift as finisher.

gerana wrote on 2016-10-06 05:37:12

Instead of Terky I used Crusher (1,2,2).

Ectothrix wrote on 2016-10-26 01:31:24

Swapped Flayer Younling 212 for Terky (not leveled) and worked as well.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-10-07 06:37:05

Lil bad wolf (1, 2, 1) can take out 2 pets, use dodge when opponent about to use big attacks, howl then claw. Bring in leveling pet or whatever humanoid, then finish of last pet with anub (2,1,1)

Anonymous wrote on 2016-10-25 05:14:13

This does not work at all. Wumpas is faster than wolf and even if you have lucky rng and make it to wumpas sleeping you cannot outdamage it. I tried it about 10 times, not once was i able to kill Wumpas

Anonymous wrote on 2016-10-25 15:47:27

I sent a suggestion about my team, I used Rotten Little Helper (2/1/1), Lil' Bad Wolf (1/2/1) and Flayer Youngling (2/2/2)
Start with Trap, then 3x Ice Lance and Gift, Thrugtusk dies.
When Wumpas comes in just pass you'll get killed by Headbutt
Bring in Wolf, Howl, 3x Claw, Dodge, Howl and Claw, Wumpas should be dead now.
Baeloth comes in, just pass you get stunned, after that use Dodge, Claw, your wolf dies.
Bring in Flayer Youngling, Triple Snap, Deflection and Rampage - Baeloth should be dead after the 2nd hit from Rampage.
I just tried it once, but my Flayer Youngling had half hp left when Baeloth died.

Delveddeep wrote on 2016-10-07 03:34:47

Rotten Little Helper, 1 2 2. lay land mines, Ice lance, ice lance, ice lance, exploding present, lose all 1k remaining health to Wumpas charge as he goes below half health walking into the landmines, then anubisath finishes off Wumpas with a demolish etc as above

Emerson wrote on 2016-10-06 04:26:33

I have used Flayer Youngling (Ninja) instead of Terky - with 2 2 2. With no problem

Nivmizzet wrote on 2016-10-07 01:36:08

I also had success with Flayer Youngling being the opening pet. I started out with Deflection to avoid the possible stun, Rampage-d, and put up Deflection when it was appropriate. The only RNG I had is that sometimes my Triple Snap would only hit once.

Good substitute recommendation!

Argent wrote on 2016-10-07 01:29:31

I didn't have Terky leveled, so instead I picked one of my Humanoid pets that have abilities strong against Beasts. Grunty worked great for me, but looking at the abilities, it looks like Crusher would do just as well (if not better), as will the Ore Eater. Baby Winston also looks promising, but I imagine it's less common. Curious Wolvar Pup and Rotten Little Helper are the only others (outside of another Anubisath Idol), and neither one looks strong here.

Marisol wrote on 2016-10-06 02:36:45

Worked great. Did one Lucky Dance, then another flank, which killed the first pet. Gave me some more time on the others. Anubisath finished them, didn't end up needing Kun-Lai Runt

Solitha wrote on 2016-09-18 21:12:31

To bypass the issue with Deflection still being on c/d with Baeloth, I switched pets to suck up that Crystal Prison, then back to the Idol. The Idol still got a lucky hit in before it died, and the fight ended well.

Anonymous wrote on 2016-09-23 01:40:52

I didn't even bother switching, just soaked the stun and continued on with the strategy. Worked great.

Kai wrote on 2016-09-19 00:56:40

The second time you say to use Deflection it is still on cool-down. (3 turn CD)
Thanks for your guides. Despite this one mistake they are quite brilliant, extremely helpful.

Allaura wrote on 2016-09-18 22:17:30

Instead of leveling Terky up to 25 I decided to try it with Lil' Bad Wolf. Started off with Mangle and then Pounce until Thrugtusk is dead. This way when Wumpas comes in, Lil' Bad Wolf soaks the attack and dies. Then you can start fresh with Anubisath Idol and start on Turn 2 with Demolish. I had to do it a few times as I had horrible luck with RNG for Demolish but the Wolf works perfectly! I didn't even need Kun-Lai Runt. Good luck!

Sam wrote on 2016-09-18 05:28:30

Thank you for all your work. This one unfortunately is not working for me. As said before, the Deflection is still on CD when Baeloth comes in which is why I can not use it there, get stunned and the whole fight goes arsewise......

I ended up not using the Deflection with Wumpas to have it ready for Baeloth. This went alright. Kun-Lai Runt finished the fight.

Poochi wrote on 2016-09-18 04:29:34

I didn't have Terky and tried Hoggs as first pet and that went all right. But Terky clearly shines to allow you to have 100% chance at Demolish. For me I used Sister of Temp. and dotted up first pet, followed by stun. I swapped to Idol after, knowing they'd bring out second pet. Deflected first ability. Was able to land lucky Demolishes. Sandstormed when he brought out first pet again to avoid stampede. Worked and didn't even need third pet.

Typo fixed! Thanks everyone :D

Sela wrote on 2016-09-06 19:11:37

Hey :) I have some feedback for this fight. So first a minor typo. On line 9 you wrote "Demolish - Thrugtusk dies" but it's Wumpas who dies.

Unfortunately, when Baeloth comes in, Deflection is still on cooldown for another round. What I ended up doing is letting Anubisath Idle get stunned by Baeloth. Then I switched in my Kun-Lai Runt, and did his rotation until Baeloth stuns him. Then I switched in Anbisath Idol again. This is a bit luck based since Demolish has such a low hit chance but it worked the first time I tried it (instead of looking for alternative pets to use).

Radek wrote on 2016-09-10 23:57:26

Nope, is Thrugtusk- did you flank twice instead of just dancing til Terky dies? that'll give demolish a 100% hit chance, killing Thrugtusk first strike, then two-hitting Wumpas.
Sath does get stunned, but it's not a huge deal, strategy still is a pretty guaranteed kill :)

Baby wrote on 2016-09-11 05:02:21

Hi! Sela is right, in your strat Thrugtusk dies twice. Lol. Just a minor typo on line 10. Great strats!

Babypoopie wrote on 2016-09-11 00:43:37

Yea what Sela wrote below is correct. Anubisath Idol's Deflection is still on 1 turn CD when Baeloth comes in to stun. Sela is also right about the line 9 typo "Demolish - Thrugtusk dies"
You wrote Thrugtusk dies twice in line 5 and again in line 9.

Did what Sela suggested, switch to Kun-lai Runt after Anubisath Idol gets stunned. Do the Kun-lai Runt rotation till he dies, and use Anubisath Idol to finish off Baeloth.
