Substitutes:

Note: You have selected a substitute pet.
The strategy might fail if you use it with this pet instead of the one the strategy creator intended.

The substitute finder looks for these criteria in relation to the original pet:
  • Same family
  • Has the required skills
  • Has the required stats (if specified)
  • Ignores specific breed requirements for the main pet, as breeds can be very different for substitutes

Tested multiple times, even when crit strat has 100% win rate for me.

Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
This strategy has been built to be as fast as possible.
The strategy takes a while. Sit back, get yourself a warm drink and relax the scenery.
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
TD Script
The strategy offers a TD script that can be used with the TD Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.
This strategy was created pre-Shadowlands and has not been tested or adapted. It might not work anymore.
Strategy was tested and will NOT work with Shadowlands. Needs major changes or removal.

Used the strat as written. Worked as advertised. There weren't any crits or stuns, so I can't say it can't fail but it worked for me.

Boneshard + Ikky: Blistering-Chop-whatever (Boneshard dies) + Black Claw + Flock. Never needed 3th pet.

The strategy steps are not reflecting the actual fight length. Manual pet swaps take 1 round, so adding abilities there without adjusting round numbers is confusing ;-)

Don't know if Blizz changed something here, but CK-9's second attack has a fair chance of stunning boneshard. If it does, you might as well quit and start over.

Blizzard has not changed anything in regards to the stun % of CK-9's moves. Sometimes RNG just isn't your friend.

If Boneshard gets stunned, Pass on the stun round, then use Chop, then Blistering Cold and skip Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling, go straight to Ikky and pick up from there with Black Claw and Flock.

Honestly, Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling does not need to be in this for it to work, you can just let Boneshard die and go to Ikky. (edited)

This worked but barely. Ikky died and I had to bring in MPD to finish the job with only about 100 health left.

So I got lazy and deviated
if you have boneshard use blistering cold, chop, bonestorm, then blistering cold again,
you can skip the pandaren dragonling altogether and go straight to black claw flock ikky and win

Not sure if it actually doesn't match, but with the ability slots rather than ability IDs this script is very prone to failure with alternative pets, so I rewrote it, and made it independent of rounds and ability slots. Additionally added breath as last hope in case even the round "6" backup strategy doesn't work (tested by explicitly not using swarm and thus dying way too early).

-- switch before big lift off hit, dodge and switch further
change(#2) [ !enemy.ability(big:646).usable & enemy.ability(liftoff:2333).usable ]

-- debuff and hit big
use(cool:786)
use(claw:919) [ !enemy.aura(claw:918).exists ]

-- fillers and backup strategy

Something is up with this rematch string. It put in Foulfeather instead of Ikky, despite the fact that I had Ikky selected here (my Foulfeather is only lvl 1 so wouldn't work, and I had to restart the match because I didn't notice the swap before starting).

I don't have a Boneshard, but Unborn Val'kyr using Curse of Doom and then Haunt filled that role successfully. Thanks!
