Initial attempt at a TD Script for this fight, based on Gráinne's advice ( https://wow-petguide.com/?Comment=76809 )

It will recast the Shell Shield when it has one stack less, rather than letting it drop off. Naturally, being part way into a dungeon it's hard to test extensively!

use(Powerball:566) [self.round = 1]
use(Shell Shield:310) [self.aura(Shell Shield:309).duration <= 1]
use(Bite:110)
use(Wind-Up:459)
change(next)

scrip does not prioritize power ball during the first enemy fight. just spams bite. lost 3 times with the scrip and did it manually no prblem.

Emerald Turtle works well- I managed to nearly solo the fight with an uncommon quality HH (1/1/2). Had to bring in Fen Crab (works well as second pet here) with Shell Shield and it was pretty easy.

Sadly failed with aspin's script...

Gráinne

You need to specify HOW it failed for your comment to do any good.

Xar wrote on 2021-05-10 10:28:26

Against Leper Rat, I've tried it a few times, and there's no reason to ever use Bite. He has a +vs undead with using Powerball and it consistently deals more damage than Bite. It would make for longer descriptions to include this (Bite is the best choice for the other non-Undead secondary pets) but worthwhile if you're struggling with this one. Your turtle will live longer if you use Powerball instead of Bite vs Undeads.

Xar wrote on 2021-05-10 10:29:13

And by "he" I mean whatever turtle you're using.

Could not get past 2 Automated Drilling Machines in the backline but otherwise works great.

Worked perfectly today, had to use a Mulgore Hatchling, but no problems at all. Darkmoon Turtle carried the whole fight.

does not work!

There are several people who investigate reports of problems with strategies on Xu-Fu's. There are designated Strategy Curators, and other regulars who read comments and are interested in the latest.

In my experience, when people leave a short "It didn't work" note, they usually made a mistake. Maybe they used a pet with the wrong Speed, maybe they didn't do a Pass where it was indicated, sometimes they were even using the team and strat from a completely different battle. :)

Sometimes there genuinely is a problem with the strat. This is where the Curators and others come in, checking the strat for weaknesses, and fixing it or removing it if it can't be fixed.

Since most failure reports with no details are wrong, it's not good to waste people's time investigating them. Instead, help them by providing the information they need.

If the strat failed for you, and you want your comment to be taken seriously:

1. Specify EXACTLY which species and breeds you used.

2. Specify whether you read the strategy from the site and executed it manually, or downloaded and used the tdScript.

3. Specify EXACTLY where the first unexpected thing happened, the first thing that deviated from what the strat predicts. What died too early? What didn't die when it was supposed to? What attack missed?

4. If possible, provide a log. You can see your log in the Pet Battle tab of your chat box. You can pull that out, make it bigger, screenshot it. Better still, you can use the addon Battle Pet Log Keeper from Curseforge, and do /pblk and Save Battle when the battle you want to log is complete.

Almost any strat can fail to a really unlucky string of crits, and some difficult challenge strats like the Family ones may fail more than anyone likes, but the people behind this site do their best to promote well-working strats. Do your part. Provide useful information.

The instructions for this are unclear please write a better move description. Very confusing.

What does 'if egbert is needed' mean? (edited)

Morgue

wrote on 2020-09-20 13:54:46

if this then egbert if that then iron starlette, some of us are very new to this and you can not assume it is obvious to use egbert if this, thanks for your time.

Gráinne

wrote on 2020-09-21 01:11:21

Morgue, that's a fair question.

I've never tried this strat, so I can't vouch for it, but from my understanding I would write the instructions like this:

1. Powerball
Now, for the rest of the battle
2. Use Shell Shield when it falls off
3. Bite otherwise.

If Darkmoon Turtle dies, bring in Egbert, and ...

1. Use Shell Shield when it falls off
2. Bite otherwise.

If Egbert Dies, bring in Iron Starlette
1. Use Powerball
2. Keep using Wind-Up.
