Low XP
At least one of the pets for this strategy require the use of a specific breed.
RNG
Not every strategy can be bullet proof. This is one of them. You might have to restart it, since there are some random elements that increase the risk of your pets failing. Don't blame them, please!
This strategy is using pets obtainable from the Wow Trading Card Game (TCG) or the auction house for potentially high sums of gold.
This strategy is using pets obtainable only from the WoW In-Game Shop for Battle.net Balance or real money.
You can use this strategy to carry a low level pet to give it experience.
Some instructions are more difficult to follow than others. That's exactly what you might find in this strategy!
Script
The strategy offers a Script that can be used with the Pet Battle Script addon. You can copy the script by clicking on the button to the left of the pets.
At least one pet in the strategy cannot be obtained anymore. If you have it, congrats!
A Strategy Curator found this strategy to be especially helpful and higlighted it with this tag to give it more exposure.

Worked first time for me in SL pp, and that was a really crappy third random pet (Thornclaw Broodling - two of the attacks were weak against this boss).

Until beasts this fight was going smoothly... now it turned into a rng-feast. SL pre-patch.

Swapped in Argi as 3rd pet, took 3 tries and done.

Maritan

Worked first time for me. I used Moon Moon in the third slot.

Mick wrote on 2018-01-10 18:16:28

Argi (2,2,1) - Xu-Fu (1,2,1,) - Stunted Shardhorn (1,1,2).

Chew, Stampede. Argi dies. Moonfire, Vengeance. Xu-Fu dies. Stampede.

Lobombre wrote on 2019-10-01 13:16:23

Summit Kid as above, then Xu-Fu and Ashana using Moonfire and w/e filler

Wasn't having luck here until I subbed in Moon Moon 1/1/1 and modified the start of the fight:
My breeds were S/B, P/B, P/S

Turn 1 Comeback
Turns 2-4 Stampede - your Summit Kid dies
Bring in your Feline Familiar
Turns 1+ Onyx Bite until your Feline Familiar dies
Bring in Moon Moon
Turn 1 Howl
Turn 2 Moon Fang

spearmoore2 wrote on 2018-11-19 17:14:48

used moon moon also but left strat as was, for moon fang, moon moon only had about 76 health...but worked

RNG is a pain in this fight, managed to do with Direhorn Runt (1,2,2), Feline Familiar (1,1,1) and Ban-Fu (2,1,1)

Anime wrote on 2018-07-09 14:03:10

I used Summit Kid (222) and Ban-Fu (212)
Soothe
Chew
Stampede
With Ban-Fu, Jade Claw until Deathscreech died

No idea how badly RNG plays into this, though.

Susie wrote on 2017-08-30 11:09:55

If you have Xu-Fu, add him in the second slot. Use Moonfire, get hit and use Vengeance, should get Spirit claws off as well. The Moonfire helps your cat with his Onyx Bite.

LirameiRav wrote on 2017-09-14 08:54:02

I don't have Feline Familiar but I threw in a Warpstalker Runt and the Blinkstrike worked well

Anonymous wrote on 2018-06-07 18:51:47

Thanks for this. Worked perfectly using the Warpstalker Runt as a sub for Feline Familiar.

thebl4ckd0g wrote on 2018-02-09 21:19:37

had to fail 5-6 times in a row and finally was able to kill with 1st 2 pets. :(

Demoniturkki wrote on 2017-12-13 13:03:40

Cinder pup, Summit Kid and Direhorn Runt works nicely as well

Nalli wrote on 2017-12-10 18:13:53

Used Summit Kid (as suggested), Moon Moon 1/1/1, and Ash'ana x/x/1...took 2 tries due to RNG...Chew, Stampede and then if Kid gets the 2nd Stampede off, you're golden, bring in Moon Moon and just use Moon Fang, Moon Moon dies, Ash'ana comes in and use Moonfire for the ender :)

Lamiena

RNG was really kind to me on this strat. Didn't even need the third pet, and my FF survived to meow another day.

Corgi

wrote on 2017-11-28 11:33:43

Ban-Lu is also good pet for this fight if you're Monkish; I believe she's similar in talents to her uncle Xu-Fu.

Advancement wrote on 2017-10-14 12:49:57

You can replace Feline Familiar with Warpstalker Hatchling/Runt with Blinkstrike. Also easy kill.

Drakuul

wrote on 2017-11-20 15:17:54

Strat failed twice in a row for me, determined 3rd pet matters, swapped in moon moon 1/1/doesn't matter. used howl then moon fang and got it first attempt w/ the change.

Tovia wrote on 2017-10-01 03:06:11

Thanks this worked for me too after trying a few other beast pets in slot 3.

Anonymous wrote on 2017-10-07 21:36:11

DkPheonix wrote on 2017-10-13 17:09:57

seems it fails if RNGesus is on the monsters side. I didn't even touch my third pet when I switched to moon moon lol

Ryuuken wrote on 2017-09-18 00:00:58

This is the only pet I've fought so far that has not used the 1st ability every fight.
That's really weird. It's made me redo it like three times.
Fourth shot, he didn't use it until Turn 5.

Yewfire wrote on 2017-09-12 04:49:49

Saiko wrote on 2017-09-17 15:55:13

I agree...this strat worked really well! Thank you!!

Rilla wrote on 2017-09-17 12:47:43

Cinder Pup: Volcano-> Flame Breath-> Coruch-> Flame Breath as long as your pupy live
Moon Moon: Howl->Moon Fang
Xu-Fu: Moonfire-> Vengeance
Mine Xu-fu stayed with 8hp but it's win anyway :)

Mokrath wrote on 2017-09-16 20:03:29

Getting Crit by this guy makes this and pretty much any strat fall apart fast! 1k dmg without weakness on a crit

Hannah wrote on 2017-09-10 02:45:46

My strat ( I did this strat 3 times in a row to make sure i wasn't getting lucky with RNG, it worked every time).

Ban-Fu (monk class pet) - Moon Tears > Prowl > Jade Claw > Ban-fu dies
Thaumaturgical Piglet - Arcane Dash > Ooze Touch until Piglet dies.
Xu-Fu - Prowl > Moonfire (boss should be dead on this hit. )

Daedrynn wrote on 2017-09-04 05:47:25

I tried each of the strats listed here multiple times and nothing worked. I ended up using a combination of three strats. This worked for me:

Zandalari Kneebiter (2,2,2)
Moon Moon (1,1,1)
Xu-fu, Cub of Xuen (1,2,1)

Black Claw
Hunting Party (dies)
Howl
Moon Fang (dies)
Moonfire
Vengeance
